Unique Instruments. Great Gear. Better Tone.
Gulf Coast Guitars
Gulf Coast Guitars is a Houston-based boutique source for distinctive guitars, basses, amplifiers, effects, and related musical equipment. We focus on vintage, unusual, discontinued, and thoughtfully modified gear — instruments and equipment with character, history, or something genuinely different to offer.
Top Gear
Instruments
A rotating selection of vintage, used, unusual, and thoughtfully modified guitars and basses chosen for their sound, feel, history, or distinctive specifications.
Amps & Effects
Interesting amplifiers, cabinets, pedals, preamps, and tone-shaping gear — from vintage classics to modern boutique equipment.
Modifications & Tone
Thoughtful upgrades to pickups, electronics, hardware, and controls, along with plenty of experimentation with the signal chain from instrument to speaker.
Refining Your Sound
We spend a lot of time evaluating how instruments, pickups, electronics, effects, amplification, and speakers work together. Some gear is best left completely original. Other pieces benefit from the right pickup, preamp, bridge, wiring change, or control layout. Our approach is simple: understand what the equipment already does well, then make changes only when they serve a clear musical purpose.
